// Antonio Arebalo //

Antonio is the first fan to contact us asking to present a mix. Keeping true to the original idea of the CONDUIT, we decided to take a chance on the longtime, but unknown, Antonio Arebol as a way to champion music we like from California. The Southern California based DJ, in turn, delivers passionate live mix that is a worthy 45th edition of the series.   – Sean-Michael Yoder

// Bio //

Antonio discovered his love for music as a youth in the streets of New Jersey and New York. The emergence of his love for music began with the sound of Kiss, Cheap trick, Rush, Boogie Down Productions and Wu-Tang Clan. As an adolescent Antonio decided to move to Phoenix Arizona in 1989 where resided there until 1999. Open-minded and eager for new challenges Antonio headed west to Los Angeles in March of 1999. New to the scene, Antonio accepted an invitation from a new friend to “Magic Wednesday” where he met his girlfriend, soon enough together they went to various clubs in addition too massive raves. Many local and national DJ’s ranging from Thee-O, DJ Dan and Donald Glaude quickly became heroes to him as he admired their candid ability to transform music by mixing. Without hesitation, Antonio quickly embarked on his journey to spin music. Dedicated to learning the skill, Antonio studied favorite mix cd’s and researched top of the line equipment. In no time Antonio purchased his MK3 Technics turntables, a Pioneer DJM500, and a JBL EON monitor in January 2001. Within one year through hard work and dedication his skills have drastically improved. Antonio’s sound is very unique as he does not discriminate against any particular genre of electronic dance music, spinning anything from house, progressive/trance, techno/electro, breaks and so forth. Antonio Arebalo has performed at various clubs in the Los Angeles area. His music shows professionalism variety and most of all passion.

The CONDUIT // 023 – Briski

Download

// Briski //

Briski does the Re:Body parties in San Francisco along with Nolan Haener and is really bringing the mid-tempo, disco influenced sound back to the SF underground – right where it belongs. These guys even had Art Department out our way long before the album blew up and the duo became ART DEPARTMENT and that’s what put Briski on our radar. This guy represents the kind of laidback, low key, in-the-know kinda musical vibe that we’ve come to love and respect in our fellow Northern Californians and here he offers us a sweet, funky mix to kick the summer off in fine style.    – Sean-Michael Yoder

// Bio //

Briski is that short tan kid you’ve seen around your town cutting a rug, djing parties, and promoting undergrounds. Whether it be in Leeds/London England , Dallas Texas, Miami Florida, or San Francisco, he strives to inspire and be inspired by the surrounding underground music scene. He has since reconnected to his original roots in San Francisco, where he now resides and involves himself in the same activities, now at new levels. With his nu classic taste in House/Techno/Disco, he has been a resident within Rythmatik; an ongoing House party thrown in SF, Miami and Seattle, and has moved on to his new creation Re:body, a SF based underground extravaganza. He also threw an eclectic b-side warehouse party called VHS(with guest Paul T) but nowadays has mainly been involved in the new project, Re:body(with last guests being Linkwood & Art Department). The energy and fresh vibe he brings to the turntables has brought him in front of crowds at numerous parties in Dallas( playing with the Cosmic Cocks, Maetrik, Egyptian Lover and Doc Martin), the Bay Area(playing with the Djs like Jeno, Sammy D, Conor, Solar) and at more undergrounds soon to be coming. He would agree that “hype is whatever”, so just let the vibe speak for itself.

The CONDUIT // 019 – Sam Allman

// Sam Allman //

For the next installments of The CONDUIT, we head down the I-5 South, over the Grapevine into the Los Angeles Basin, a second home to me and still a spot for great music of all stripes.

Fwd.dj has to be the electronic music  publication I read the most, and not because it’s the most wide spanning in coverage, but because it speaks in a familiar voice. These guys are Californians, like me, seeing the world of techno through a keen West Coast eye. I met Sam Allman, the mag’s content editor, during the promotion of Jay Haze’s album and found him to be a sensible guy with a keen sense of how music and criticism work. Then I started listening to his mixes on Soundcloud and realized he also has a good ear for tracks and how to program them. It was only natural to approach him for a mix for The CONDUIT and now we proudly present it you.  – Sean-Michael Yoder

The CONDUIT // 012 – Android Cartel – Live @ Future/Now

Download

// Android Cartel //

Chris & Reagan of Android Cartel return with this live mix from the Halloween Future/Now party, a rare techno party here in our hometown. The mix laid down by Android Cartel steers things closer to the dance floor with more of a focus on groove than on CONDUIT 001, which saw the duo exploring many different styles and sounds as more of a showcase of their various works. We had numerous second thoughts about approaching the same artist so soon in the series but finally the idea of presenting different sides of our good friends Android Cartel won out and thus CONDUIT 012 was born. Our hope is that you get the same thrill we did seeing it performed live. Enjoy!   – Sean-Michael Yoder
